Why I’m Running for Burbank City Council My daughter I’m running for Burbank City Council because Burbank is not simply where I live—it is the community that has shaped my life for the past 60 years. I grew up here, graduated from Burbank schools, raised my family here, and watched our community grow and change across generations. attended Burbank schools, and today I am a homeowner and housing provider who has also experienced Burbank as a renter. I understand our community not from just one perspective, but from many. My career in law enforcement and child protective services taught me the importance of public safety, accountability, compassion, and protecting people who need their government to work for them. Those experiences gave me a practical understanding of the challenges families, seniors, renters, homeowners, and vulnerable residents face. I have also had the privilege of serving Burbank directly as a member of the Tenant-Landlord Commission and Civil Service Commission. Those experiences taught me that effective local government isn't about slogans or partisan politics. It is about listening carefully, examining the facts, treating people fairly, making responsible decisions, and finding practical solutions. My AA, BA, and MA degrees, combined with decades of professional and community experience, have prepared me to approach the complex issues facing Burbank with knowledge, independence, and common sense. At this stage of my life, I am not running for personal advancement. I am running because I believe I have something valuable to give back to the city that has given so much to me. I bring 60 years of Burbank experience, a lifetime of public service, firsthand experience with housing from both sides, knowledge of public safety and city government, and a deep understanding of the people and neighborhoods that make Burbank special. I don't just want to preserve the Burbank I remember. I want to help build the Burbank our children and grandchildren will be proud to call home. Sixty years of Burbank experience. A lifetime of service. A commitment to Burbank's future.
